Every watch purchased from Watch Surplus is automatically covered under our warranty—no additional registration is required. For certain brands that provide their own manufacturer warranties, you may need to register the product directly with them. Please refer to the documentation included with your watch for specific instructions.

Duration of Coverage

We provide warranty coverage on all brand-name watches for a period ranging from 1 to 3 years after the date of purchase, depending on the specific brand and model. Please check the product details for the exact warranty period applicable to your watch.

What Our Warranty Covers

Our warranty is designed to protect you against:

  • Manufacturing Defects: Flaws or defects in materials and workmanship present at the time of purchase.
  • Movement Issues: Problems with the watch’s internal mechanism that cause it to gain or lose time abnormally or stop keeping accurate time.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

While our warranty is comprehensive, it does not cover the following:

  1. External Damage and Wear
    • Normal Wear and Tear: Gradual deterioration from regular use, including scratches, fading, or aging of materials.
    • Physical Damage: Any harm to the watch case, crystal/glass, bracelet/band, bezel, straps, screws, crown/stem, finishes, clasps/buckles, or other external parts due to accidents or misuse.
    • Lost or Missing Components: Stones, gems, or any decorative elements that have fallen off the watch.
  2. Water Damage
    • Moisture Exposure: Damage resulting from water or moisture entering the watch, especially if it exceeds the manufacturer’s water resistance guidelines.
    • Improper Use: Failure to secure screw-down crowns or use of the watch in environments beyond its specified water resistance.
  3. Unauthorized Repairs and Modifications
    • Third-Party Servicing: Any damage or defects caused by repairs, servicing, or alterations performed by anyone other than Watch Surplus or an authorized service center.
    • Modifications: Changes made to the watch’s appearance or functionality that were not performed by authorized personnel.
  4. Misuse and Improper Handling
    • Accidents and Negligence: Damage from dropping, hitting, or mishandling the watch.
    • Improper Use: Using the watch outside of its intended purpose or not following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Exceeding Manufacturer’s Guidelines
    • Operational Limits: Damage resulting from operating the watch beyond the manufacturer’s specifications, such as temperature extremes or magnetic exposure.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

We strive to make the warranty claim process as straightforward as possible:

    • Repair the watch using genuine parts.
    • Replace the watch with the same model or a comparable one if the original is no longer available.
    • All repairs and replacements are performed at no cost to you for parts and labor.

Limitation of Liability

  • No Liability for External Damages: Watch Surplus is not responsible for any external damages as outlined in the “What Our Warranty Does Not Cover” section.
  • No Consequential Damages: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the watch.
  • Implied Warranties: Any implied warranties, including those of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this express warranty.

Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
